Bill Kirchner

Bill Kirchner teaches courses in the Composition, Film, and Writing programs, including Seminar in Composition, Seminar in Composition: Film, Introduction to Film, and Introduction to Fiction Writing. He also teaches the First-Year Programs courses “The Urban Idea: Reading and Writing the City” and “Rock and Roll as Literature”. Research and writing interests include urban studies, working class literature/film, contemporary fiction and poetry, and the cultural history of popular music. Bill received a BA in Film Studies and Writing from the University of Pittsburgh, and he is also a graduate of Pitt’s MFA Writing Program.
