Pitt Magazine is looking for an editorial assistant to contribute to various writing assignments—everything ranging from book reviews to profiles. The editorial assistants also gather story ideas, conduct research and interviews, perform field reporting, work with editors to shape stories for publication, take on proofreading and fact-checking duties, and assist with the details of shaping and publishing a magazine. Their experience prioritizes narrative storytelling. This is an ideal position for a burgeoning writer wishing to build their portfolio and learn the ins and outs of magazine production.
Pitt Magazine's editorial assistants are expected to work 12-15 hours a week.
