Description

Due date: Friday August 15, 2025, 5PM

Interested in learning key skills to help you break into the journalism industry more easily after graduation?

The Pittsburgh Media Partnership, a project of Point Park University’s Center for Media Innovation, seeks motivated student journalists for its fall 2025 internship program.

This internship is intended to give two (2) students with a serious interest in a journalism career — particularly those who are underrepresented in the industry — an opportunity to learn on the job, improve their portfolio and leverage the experience so that they can break into the industry more easily after graduation.

Interns will work alongside other journalists in a teaching newsroom designed to support local news outlets and early-career journalists. The content developed from the newsroom will be shared across the 33 members of the Pittsburgh Media Partnership, which has a combined reach of 9 million.

Interns will be based at the Pittsburgh Downtown Media Hub, 223 Fourth Ave. Interns will earn $15 per hour for up to 150 hours. Work must be completed by the end of the fall semester.

Candidates should be at least 18 years of age and enrolled at one of seven Pittsburgh area college institutions: Carlow University, Chatham University, Duquesne University, La Roche University, Point Park University, Robert Morris University, or the University of Pittsburgh.
